Folk group "Kurpianka" was founded in the village of Kadzidlo In 1947, in the midst of Puszcza Zielona (Green Forest). Since its inception, the group’s main goal has been to preserve the authenticity of traditional folklore of the Kurpie region and relay it through dance, music and rite. The group’s repertoire includes traditional dances. The folk music is performed by a band of harmony "pedalowa", clarinet, violin and drum players. “Kurpianka” performed on stages all over Poland. The group was applauded in Italy, Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, Belarus, Lithuania, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Greece, France, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sweden and Ireland. Kurpianka” was one of the first ensembles that got the Prestigious Prize of Oskar Kolberger.
The leader of the group is Pawel Laszczych.
